There comes a time in our lives
where we must choose a path.
Destinations are irrelevant.
Bringing the will forth and
becoming yourself will set you free.
Don't be who they want you to be.
Don't say what they say;
Speak what you mean.
Breathe on your own.
Learn the patterns that keep us alive.
I can't give meaning to these words.
Only you can dig in past these roots.
How can we know each other . . .
Your eyes hide another world
Embrace and fight for what is right.
Stabilize and search behind these eyes.
The sun is burning out,
but what is the sun when we know no language?
The sun is burning out,
but what is the sun when we know no language?
Do you remember when I told you
to choose between a life and a lover?
It never mattered to me,
I'm just happy that we met.
Bringing the will forth and
becoming yourself will set you free.
Don't be who they want you to be.
Don't say what they say;

Since the day that I was conceived,
it seemed my destiny was to brave the seas.
My brain knew the way, but my heart went astray.
The use of logic, you kept it at bay.
Vivid and beautiful
the sight invaded my thoughts.
For a time so long, yet so short
we barely skimmed the surface.
You were my saving grace.
With my eyes to the sky I sail into the distance.
You were supposed to see
you were my anchor; you kept me home.
This life is full of vicious circles.
That's why we choose to break our ties with the land.
The sea breeze is my only comfort
yet it stings the wounds inside my throat.
This life is full of vicious circles.
Vivid and beautiful
the sight invaded my thoughts.
For a time so long, yet so short
we barely skimmed the surface.
You were my saving grace.
With my eyes to the sky I sail into the distance.
You were supposed to see
you were my anchor; you kept me home.

Bryan Balog New Jersey
A student at Rowan University. Been a musician on and off since I was 5, but I have been a serious musician for 8 years now. I play guitar, bass, drums, and I do some singing and screams. I do all of my own writing, mixing, and mastering at my house/ dorm. Most of my music is proggy, but I try to have a broad musical horizon. All I want is for people to listen to my music and enjoy it. Thanks ... more
